Creating a Canvass in Power BI

In here, I writes about the basic of visualizations, dashboards and how to join Data? and build a dashboard.

Here, in the menu bar to input data to the power BI

Insert → Get Data

It allows you to import the data from different sources. You can input the data from any data format.

Import Data

When you input the data, you have to check mark the box of which the data you want to input to the power BI dashboard. Then in the right side of the popup box shows the selected data of you want. After that you click on the load data button to load the data to the Power bI or if you want to transform data to another data type you click on the transform button.

View Modes

Here you can see the 3 types of data viewers in the left side of the power BI dashboard.

1. Report
2. Data
3. Model

In report view, user can view the imported data as visualization. User can use pie chart, column chart, bar chart, area chart, line chart so on and so fourth.

Table

In Data view user can see the same data with table manner like excel. User can add needed field or can remove the unwanted field in this view.

Data view

In model view, you can see the same imported data as query. You can create one to one or one to many relationships like MS Access.

Here user can see the 3 types of data view in one dashboard. This is the specialty of Power BI tool.
